The ground station comprises the following parts:

• flight planning software MAVinci Desktop
• Connector (more detailed information below)
• Remote control

Wireless Links

• WLAN Access Point (optionally with 3G support)
• Dual long range and short range links to the UAV for up to 40 km direct line-of-sight communication
• WLAN connection between MAVinci Desktop and MAVinci Cockpit

Other Features

• Manages connection between UAV, MAVinci Desktop and MAVinci Cockpit
• UAV Simulation: Learn how to use the UAV without flying a real UAV
• Multiple MAVinci Desktops can connect to the Ground Station simultaneously
• GPS receiver (Position of the Ground Station is visible in MAVinci Desktop)
• Air pressure sensor for up-to-date altitude zero reference
• Uses the same battery packs as the UAV
